Terms of Service
Welcome to PrintMyTree. By using our website and services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions.
1. Nature of Service
PrintMyTree provides a web-based utility that allows users to upload GEDCOM files and visualize them as custom family tree charts. The final product is offered in two forms: (a) a downloadable digital PDF file, and (b) an optional printed poster produced individually to order and shipped to the buyer by a third-party print-on-demand partner. Every order — digital or physical — is generated from the buyer's own data and customized to their specifications.
2. Final Sale Policy
Digital downloads. Because the PDF is generated and made available for download immediately upon payment, you explicitly agree that performance of the service begins instantly. In accordance with EU and international consumer protection rules for digital goods (including Directive 2011/83/EU, Art. 16(m)), all digital sales are final and you expressly waive your right to a 14-day cooling-off period once file generation has commenced.Physical prints. Printed posters are made to order based on the family tree you build and the specifications you choose (size, framing, etc.). They qualify as goods produced to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalized, and are therefore exempt from the right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU, Art. 16(c). Physical orders are final and non-refundable once production has started.Defects and shipping damage. If a printed poster arrives damaged, is misprinted, or does not match the file we produced, contact us with photos and your order details and we will arrange a reprint at no additional cost. This does not apply to errors in the underlying data you supplied or to an incorrect shipping address entered at checkout.
3. User Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the GEDCOM data you upload, for the content and layout you approve before ordering, and for the shipping address you provide for physical orders. PrintMyTree does not review or correct user data. We are not liable for spelling errors, layout choices, or visual anomalies resulting from faulty data input, nor for physical orders that cannot be delivered because of an incorrect or incomplete address.
4. Third-Party Fulfillment
Physical posters are produced and shipped by an external print-on-demand partner. Production times, shipping options, delivery windows, and carrier availability depend on that partner and the destination country. Estimated delivery times shown at checkout are indicative and not guaranteed.
5. Limitation of Liability
The service is provided on an "as-is" basis. In no event shall PrintMyTree be liable for any indirect or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the service.
